I AM VITAL!
So what does it mean to be vital?
The answer is two fold, not only does vital hold the connotation that you are important and matter but also that you ascribe to a certain health philosophy, that of vitalism. By first recognising that you are vital to this universe you may then take steps to live vitalistically and pave the way for a better future, as an individual as a part of a community and for the entire world.
Vitalism as applied to the health of an individual is the understanding and respect that we are not just mere "bodies" that can be explained by science, but we are living organisms controlled by an innate intelligence that is fundamentally self healing and self regulating. We were designed to function flawlessly, to be happy and to express love and vitality and to do this we need no help just no interference.
The problem is that our modern lifestyles are full of things that interfere with the innate vitality of our bodies, including poor dietary habits, lack of exercise, pollution, stress and reliance on medications.
Those who adopt vitalism as a way of life respect their own body as a sacred gift or vessel for which through they can live and express life. That said they open their minds to learning and understanding how best to look after their bodies in order to express their own true potential. A vitalistic person makes conscious choices toward health and wellness.
VItalism is not about perfection. It is about respect, acknoweldegement and love of the human form. It means that we make conscious choices and respect the conscious choices of those around us.
By taking care of the individual the impact on the family is great. A vialistic family's impact on the comunity is huge and by impacting a community a single person can change a world. Thousands or millions of inviduals changing communities can change the world!
